Burke-Agro prepares solar-dehydrated fruit grown and produced in Nicaragua by
women’s working groups for exportation to American specialty grocers and
wholesalers on the U.S. market. Sustainable methods and practices along with
the use of renewable energy are integral in our mission. Nicaraguan dehydrated
fruit stands out from that of the competition. It is naturally preserved and has no
additives or sugar.
Burke-Agro stimulates the socio-economic advancement of rural women
entrepreneurs and through them, the economic and social-economic
development of the respective producing areas. The overall project supports the
development and growth by facilitating access to relevant resources, technology,
and support. We strongly believe that working in conjunction with local government
and international development agencies helps better target a need for
communities and provides us with the opportunity to provide women of those
communities, skills and means to better their lives and surroundings.
